After several years of working at a Mercedes-Benz dealership as a technician, my entrepreneurial spirit sparked the initial idea for BenzTek. In late 2001, I started out on my own, working on Mercedes-Benz vehicles in a small garage. I knew that I could grow a successful business if I offered my high standards for service and repairs, but charged less than the dealers.
Business continued to grow as word spread about the quality of my work. Customers liked being able to speak directly to a certified Mercedes-Benz technician, instead of a service advisor. They could tell they found someone who was truly passionate about Mercedes-Benz vehicles.
We quickly grew out of our small garage and made our first move into a 2,500 square foot shop in Lemont, Illinois. Six months later we took on an additional 2,500 square foot space, adjacent to our shop. Less than one year later, our exploding customer base required another move to our current 10,000 square foot space.
In September, 2010, BenzTek moved to a new location in Countryside, Illinois. With customers coming from Chicago and the surrounding suburbs, we knew we needed to be more centrally located. Today, we are more refined than ever, with several bays, a fully equipped state of the art shop and luxurious waiting room. It is our intent for the name "BenzTek" to be synonymous with the highest standards for Mercedes-Benz repair — and a Mercedes-Benz owner's first choice over the dealer.
